End of Summer

It pains me to write such horrible words, but there is no escaping it....summer has ended. We had a wonderful summer filled with excursions from coast to coast, however, the paychecks stop coming if you don't head back to work for the start of school. Of course our return to work meant that Carson returned to full-time daycare this past week. The last month or so of the summer when we took Carson to daycare part-time he would say repeatedly say 'no' as we pulled into the parking lot. It turns out Carson was starting to get a little bit bored of the orange room. He had somehow gone from one of the little ones during the winter to just about the biggest kid in the room and I think that he knew it. So luckily during this first full-time week he transitioned into the blue room, which is a room geared toward the older group of toddlers. Carson quickly fell in love with the blue room and feels right at home. In fact, on the way home he will repeatedly say 'blue room' and list off all of his friends (he always says the names of the girls first and giggles). Ironically, Carson is still one of the biggest kids in the room. We happened to swing by the doctor's office for a quick check-up the other day and he is now 33 lbs and almost 35 inches tall, which places him still at the 95th percentile in weight and 75th percentile in height for his age. At his last check up he was 55th percentile in height. The back and forth in his height percentile is clearly an all out war between the Hurt and McKnight gene pool....I'm pulling for the Hurt gene pool on this one, but not during the hair gene battle.

Comments:
Go McKnight hair!!!
