Happy New Year!

Here is a video clip of Carson and his new toy from Grandee and Sittie. I have not put up the Xmas videos yet because I need to load the software for our new video camera onto the computer to transfer the clips. Sorry about that, this clip is from our digital camera. Enjoy, this guy is growing fast!

Carson's First Holiday Season

Last week during the power outage, the Hurt-Rahn family was nice enough to let us shack up with them for the evening. I suspect that all they really wanted was their Xmas presents, but we had a warm place to stay nonetheless. During our visit, we ventured down to the water and enjoyed the Christmas ships along Lake Washington, this has turned into an annual tradition. Although I did find it curious that while half a million people in the Seattle were without power, we came out to enjoy an obnoxious display of lights, I guess it's only really obnoxious if you were without power for 65 hours, like us. Sometime during the event, we lost Calder, which is why you don't see him pictured. Hopefully, Santa will return him, but as Christi says, "Second born children really aren't as important, so we can always get another one."

On Tuesday night, we made a spur of the moment trip to Ballard to see Aunt Chelsey and Santavorn. They fixed us a delicious meal and we spent time strategizing about upcoming celebrations. Santavorn was not much help as it appears that he is building a bomb or a computer from scratch, looks the same to me.

Carson is doing great and has some new tricks. Primarily, he is much more likely to smile and laugh at you throughout your interaction with the little tank. We have tried to catch some of this on video, but are always a bit too slow on the draw or too enamored with his giggles. At times, he comes close to finding his thumb or finger to suck on, but he determines that the outside of his hand is more appealing and begins there. We both think that he will soon enough follow in the footsteps of his parents and embark on a long journey of thumb/finger sucking. He is starting to sleep longer and longer at night, but not long enough at night yet. When we return from Spokane next week, we are going to transition him to his crib full time and try and move his bedtime to 8:30 instead of 9:30...very exciting, I know. What else is there to say.......he is a great little baby and we are happy to spend our first Christmas with him.

Sorry that I have been so delinquent in my posts, there will be another post shortly following Carson's first Christmas Morning.

Merry Christmas to all!
