Carson's First Day of Daycare

One day of daycare down for Mr. Carson! It appears that the people at our daycare believe that Carson is a baby genius and they are moving him up to the preschool room tomorrow.......actually, they need to clear out some of the more senior babies and truly make room for Carson in the infant room, but we did have a successful day. Here is the word on the street from Carson's first teachers, "Carson had a wonderful day. He did not have any problems sleeping. We are glad to have him." Trish and I were relieved that he slept well in their crib since we had fibbed and told them that he actually takes naps in his crib at home when the truth is that at home he only sleeps in his carseat for naps. Well, we are going to keep our fingers crossed that he sleeps well again tonight and allows us to have another fine day for the two parent working household.

Wish us luck and check back shortly for some pics from our trip out to the coast last week.

Happy Valentine's Day

Here is Carson's first Valentine to you all, a minute long video of Carson laughing at his Dad while his Mom holds him in his Baby Bjorn. Carson was in one of those moods tonight where if he was not being fed or held upright on your chest with the Bjorn, then he was not a happy dude. But when his Dad started making some funny duck sounds, he could not control himself and broke out into a laughing fit.

Four Month Check-Up

Today Carson, Mom, and Dad took a trip to see Dr. S for the youngster's four month check-up. Dr. S still asks us about the episodes from Carson's first few days of life and it always feels great to quickly answer that nothing of concern remains. Dr. S was actually on call at the hospital the night of the breathing episode and worked with us throughout that long evening, so we always feel a strong bond with him. During the check-up, Carson weighed in at 16 lbs 6ozs (80th percentile), 26 inches long (86th percentile), and his head measured at the 76th percentile. Carson checked out quite well across the board and appears to be progressing normally and meeting the majority of his developmental milestones. After our pleasant visit with the doc, we moved on to the land of vaccinations where Carson received 4 injections, which he truly hated. He voiced his displeasure quickly and loudly, but thanks to his Mom and the magic of breastfeeding, he forgot about the pain and settled in for a long snooze.
