Summer Vacation Part III: Spokane
We made our annual summer pilgrimage to Spokane two weeks ago. We spent about ten days enjoying the family and sun that occupies the eastern half of Washington.
After a three day stay with Wayne and Jan where Carson fought off a little virus, we headed up to Deep Lake to relax and assist in any way possible with the construction of the cabin. The lake has two things that Carson loves (in addition to his grandparents) and those two things are rocks and water, lots of both. Carson spend a good deal of time throwing rocks from the shore into the lake. Carson's cousin, Alise, was a huge help taking care of him, we owe her big time.
Carson enjoyed his first boat trip so much that his Grandpa let him drive the boat. He really got a kick out of turning the wheel and watching the boat float across the water. We have a little video of the boat ride that I might post in the next few days.
Aunt Kassie took us to a really cool park in Spokane, it had a fun jungle gym and a water park that beckoned Carson. We left on his button up shirt that when coupled with his swimsuit made for a funny outfit, but you can see the pure happiness on his face.
Cute pic of these two.
After spending time at Deep Lake, we migrated across the state line to Rose Lake in Idaho where Kris and John have a cabin. This was Carson's first time at Rose Lake and we got to hang out with a whole crew of family. Gramps (Carson's great-grandfather) wanted to take Carson fishing, but we didn't quite get to that. Carson did have fun petting a few fish that his cousin Colton caught. I caught a couple little fish, but nothing to get real excited about.
Aunt Laurie and Great Gramdma Jean pose with Carson. There are more pics from our trip in the flickr account. Only a few more weeks of summer vacation, we are in the midst of prepping our townhome for sale, so keep your fingers crossed for us. One last note of congrats to Trish's sister Chelsey who got engaged tonight to her man Santavorn.

Hmmmmm.... rocks and water, rocks and water, rocks, water - yup, definitely he's related by blood to that big Papa, Wayne!
